Mom and Pop Internet

In the area where I live, when most everyone still had dial-up, there used to be more local services that provided Internet access. Now that high speed Internet service providers are the “in” thing, we get our Internet service through a big-name company and the brief era of “Mom and Pop” types of Internet service providers is over. Yet, there are many local businesses in other areas of the country that are now providing high speed Internet where for many, having the Internet at all is still a bit rare. It’s nice to see locally-provided high speed Internet. It reminds me of how on the Internet itself, the big companies have their own home pages, but the little guy on the next page down can get his piece of the pie, too.
