How To Draw Up Your Hiking Checklist
July 23, 2008 7:25 am SportsI was telling a friend the other day that, following a disastrous hiking trip for which I left just about everything I really needed at home except my new pair of Asolo hiking boots, I have started to draw up a checklist a couple of days before I start packing for a trip. He thought that this was a good idea but wondered whether or not it would really work since it was just as likely that he would forget to add something to the list and end up without it despite his efforts. Fortunately, this doesn’t seem to happen. All I do is sit down and paint a mental picture of my next hiking trip imagining everything that could possible happen. As I do so I write down everything I see myself needing to pack and, so far, this easy tactic has never failed me.
