Home Made Wine Making: Is Trendy

7:32 pm Miscellaneous

Winemaking or vinification starts with the selection of grapes and ultimately ends with bottling the finished wine. Grapes are the source of wine; however wine can also be made from other fruit or non-toxic plant material. Honey finds a major proportion of total constituents in a kind of wine called mead.

Still wine production, a process that comes without carbonation and sparkling wine production that comes with carbonation are the two major classifications to wine making. With good quality wine being in increasing demand, demand for good quality grapes are equally on the rise and good quality grapes can be assured only when factors like weather during the growing season, soil minerals and acidity, time of harvest and pruning method are taken care of. The bottling of finished wine is done only after the addition of a small dose of sulphite which not only prevents fermentation of wine in the bottle but also helps preserve wine. My next post will be about, home made wine making.
