The Public Broadcasting System was one of the pioneers of broadcasting their programs over the Internet. This proved that many people were willing to sit in front of their monitors to watch shows like Frontline, Austin City Limits, Antique Road Show, and Nova. Other networks first scoffed at internet tv thinking that there was very little money to be made. How wrong they were. Once the likes of NBC, CBS, and ABC got into the game and started rebroadcasting their television shows with commercials they made more money. PBS has never an Internet broadcast that was not free of commercials.
