Supporting an Alcoholic who is sober and in recovery
June 30, 2008 1:11 pm HealthSupporting an alcoholic who is sober and in recovery isn’t the easiest thing to do. Being a drug or alcohol addict is a rough thing to deal with. However, if you are the person who is helping to support or who is trying to support a person who is in the middle of recovering from an addiction, it can be especially taxing on you. It takes a lot of courage and moral strength to help someone get through a drug or alcohol addiction. It almost seems as if you are the prson who is going through the drug and alcohol addiction yourself at times. Whatever the situation, it is extremely important that you are supportive. You may not agree with how the person arrived at their current situation, but wouldn’t it feel great to know that you had made some sort of difference in that person’s life?
