Is my respiratory therapist salary worth it?
August 25, 2008 4:11 pm BusinessI’ve been working the last few years as a respiratory therapist at a Level 1 trauma center in New York. These days, I don’t know if a respiratory therapist salary is worth it there. I used to really thrive on the action, rushing in for the car crashes and gunshot wounds and such. Now, though, I just don’t have the energy. I still love being a r.t., but I’d love to work in a simpler setting, maybe with babies or in geriatrics or something. Really, would a couple of emphysema cases a day be too much to ask for? I’d even take a salary cut to move to a simpler kind of work.
