Characteristics of a Good Daycare Provider
August 30, 2008 7:43 pm BusinessFor many parents, placing their child in a daycare facility is nerve racking and filled with uncertainty. Most people place their children because this is necessary for financial reasons. How then do we try to ensure that our children are getting competent care ?
I recommend that you learn about daycare in general and generate some questions to ask potential providers. Also, speak with other parents who already use daycare and learn what they can share. Decide what things are important to you, This will guide the type of questions you ask a provider.
There are some essential areas to cover in any case. I would check to see if the provider is licensed under your State Regulatory Board. I am interested in the quality of meals that will be served. I want to know how long they have been providing services and whether or not they like it. If the provider becomes ill, do they have a back-up ready to come in and so forth….Last but not least, can they provide you with a written contract of services clearly outlining what they provide and what they expect from you and for what price.
